Mud Bog Rules & Regulations




Class Type Tire Size
#1 Stock Type 36" & under
#2 Stock Type 36" & under
#3 Modified 36" & under
#4 Modified 40" & under
#5 Modified DOT any size
#6 Exotic DOT & Tractor - any size



Stock Type: Classes #1 DOT Type Tires

 1. Plates & Insurance must match vehicle Vin#.
 2. 4x4 vehicles only.
 3. Engine must be factory equipped to vehicle.
 4. Motor must be in stock location.
 5. Flat beds allowed.
 6. No gutting or stripping.
 7. Any carb or fuel injection (to factory).
 8. No nitrous or exotic fuels.
 9. Must pull at least 15" of vacuum at 800 RPM.
10. No relocation of drivetrain components. Lift-kits allowed.
11. No open exhaust, no headers and must have some sort of muffler.
12. No Boggers, Terra, Scoops, or Cut tires.
13. Must be DOT approved tires.
14. This class is for stock factory trucks ONLY!


Stock Type: Classes #2 DOT Type Tires

 1. 4x4 Vehicles Only.
 2. Any motor & drivetrain combination allowed (no chain drives).
 3. Motor on stock location of frame (front of engine must not be to the rear of centerline
    of front axle).
 4. Flat beds allowed.
 5. No gutting or stripping. Removable tops and tailgates may be removed.
 6. Body swaps allowed. Must maintain wheelbase for body being used.
 7. Any carb or fuel injection, naturally aspirated (unless factory equipped).
 8. No nitrous or exotic fuels (bottle must be removed).
 9. Must pull at least 15" of vacuum at 800 RPM.
10. No relocation of drivetrain components fore or aft; such as engine, axles, &
      transfer case.
11. Suspension must be comparable to stock type (lift kits okay). No adjustable
      coil-overs unless factory equipped.
12. No open exhaust.


Modified Rules: Classes #3 & #4 DOT Type Tires

1. Vehicles may enter twice per class with a different driver but can only place once per
     class either longest run or fastest run.

2. Any motor and drive train combination allowed.
3. Stripping & gutting allowed.
4. Body and frame must be production made. Flat beds allowed.
5. Naturally aspirated- no nitrous- no exotic fuels (bottle must be removed).
6. Axles must be centered in wheel wells.
7. DOT type tires only, no cuts or tractor tires.
8. Must have approved driveshaft loops.
9. Suspension must be comparable to stock type (lift kits okay). No adjustable coil-overs,
    unless factory equipped.
10. Engines must maintain harmonic balancer to centerline of front axle not behind.


Modified Rules: Class #5 DOT Type Tires

1. Engine, body, and chassis open.
2. Tire size open- no cuts, paddles or scoops.
3. Any fuel, naturally aspirated, fuel injection acceptable. No nitrous and no injected
    alcohol (bottle must be removed).
4. Adjustable coil-overs acceptable.
5. Must have approved driveshaft loops.


Exotic Rules: Class #6 DOT & Tractor tires (any size)

1. Engine, body & chassis open.
2. Tire Size open. Cuts allowed. No paddles or scoops.
3. Any fuel naturally aspirated. Fuel Injection and nitrous okay. No Blowers.
4. Must have approved driveshaft loops.
5. Adjustable coil-overs acceptable.


* Required Equipment (all classes included) *

 1. All classes must have seatbelts. Exotic classes must have a minimum 4pt. Harness.
 2. A secure permanent hitch capable of accepting a 3/4" pin clevis at the rear and also at
     the front, if wishing to be pulled forward in the event of a full run. No hanging chains
     or cables. If your hitch fails, while being pulled back "you will be disqualified".
     Driver or crewmen will be required to rehook cable.
 3. All vehicles must have a minimum of a fully charged 2.5-lb fire extinguisher with gauge
     in reach of the driver while belted in.
 4. All drivers shall have full coverage racing type helmet. Snell 85 rated for Exotic Class.
 5. All drivers must wear shirts, long pants and shoes during competition. No sandals or
     flip-flops.
 6. Drivers of vehicles using exotic fuels, such as alcohol, must wear a full fire suit with
     headsox, boots and gloves.
 7. All vehicles must have brake system capable of stopping the vehicle in a safe distance.
    All stock classes must have 4 wheel brakes.
 8. A minimum of a 4" sight opening on drivers side window.
 9. Hood may be cut to allow for headers or induction system.
10. Carburetors must have flash shield or air cleaner. No air-intake thru drivers
     compartment.
11. All batteries must be securely mounted. Those that are mounted outside engine
      compartment must be completely enclosed.
12. All open bodied vehicles must have foot restraint on the drivers side to keep
      drivers foot from slipping outside the vehicle.
13. Inner fenders are required to protect area from radiator to front of engine block.
14. Full firewalls and full floorboards are required for all classes.
15. Whip antennas and tow bars must be removed for competition.
16. Any open or soft top vehicle with glass removed, must have 4 point rollcage,
      securely mounted to frame.
17. Every vehicle must have an engine kill switch within reach of the driver while he/she is
      fastened securely in harness or seat belt.
18. All relocated fuel tanks must be protected from collision and properly secured.
19. All vehicle fuel systems must have lines and pumps located outside drivers
      compartment and be vented below the floor of the vehicle unless equipped with
      factory vent or rollover valve.
20. All vehicles are required to have a working neutral safety switch.
21. The running gear of each vehicle will be inspected to verify the safety of such critical
      parts as steering, brakes, welds, tires, and body conduction, ect.
22. All vehicles must be race ready for tech inspection. No passengers permitted.
23. All vehicles in Modified and Exotic classes must have driveshaft loops on any shaft
      over 12" in length. Must be made of 1/4" x 1" steel or equivalent, located in the
      middle of the driveshaft or 6" from each end.
